Taylor Math
About me
For the past eleven years I have been teaching mathematics in, both, public education and higher education. Math has been an interest of mine since I was in middle school (a certain number of years ago) and a passion was ignited when I moved to eastern Kentucky, around 13 years ago. Since that time I have pursued math, and mathematical interests, in every way I can imagine.
Prior to becoming a math teacher, I was an engineer/project manager for a commercial construction company in Lexington. My role required that I design structural light gauge steel truss systems for commerical projects throughout KY, IN, TN, OH, and WV.
After getting my degree in mathematics, I began teaching and also pursuing advanced degrees in mathematics. With that education came new opportunities. In addition to my role as an educator with Perry County Schools, I serve as a civilian contractor for the Department of Defense with the Defense Threat Reduction Agency...the math I get to do is truly incredible!
In my free time, I enjoy riding my motorcycle. Sometimes my dog, Jasper, will even ride with me! I also love UK basketball, reading, camping, and even doing math for fun...yes, that is a real thing!
